Week 19

This week nerve cells for senses such as taste, hearing, sight and smell are developing in your little one’s brain. At your mid-way through pregnancy (nearly there) scan the doctor will scan all of baby’s body to make sure everything’s developing as it should be. Don’t forget to get your pictures from the scan to take home with you and show off.
Your baby is now also getting a protective substance called vernix caseosa. To put it simply, it protects your baby’s sensitive skin from the surrounding amniotic fluid and sheds before the birth.
