Week 30

Your baby’s brain development has come on leaps and bounds, and they are getting smarter. They can now regulate their own body heat and will start to shed the hair that has been covering their skin. They no longer need it to keep them warm.

Your little one is now strong enough to grasp your finger, which they’ll do the first time you hold them. You’re probably not only excited to meet him or her, but also ready to be finished with pregnancy. It might have been a tough few weeks but you are in the home stretch now!

Heartburn may be especially bothersome between now and the arrival of your little one. This is due to the same hormone that helps your pelvic muscles to relax so that you can give birth, also relaxes the muscles of your throat too, allowing stomach acid and food to creep back up, causing that burning sensation.
