While the birth still seems far away (time goes slower at this stage of pregnancy), you and your baby are both physically ready in a lot of ways, just in case there’s an early arrival.
Your little sweetheart is working on their survival skills like sucking and breathing, while your womb is practicing with some Braxton Hicks contractions.
Your baby has also probably settled into the head-down, bottoms-up position in your pelvis to get ready for the big day. If not, it’ll be happening in the next couple of weeks.
Good news is when your baby does engage (head-down, bottoms-up) you may get some relief! This is because there will be less pressure up high and you may be able to breathe a little easier. Unfortunately you may need to pee a little more often too. But you’re used to that at this stage.
