Your baby is shedding the remainder of their lanugo (the thin peach-like fuzzy hair that was keeping them warm). As it is then in the amniotic fluid, your little one swallows it and this will stay in their bowels until birth. Their first poo will be a blackish sticky mixture, called meconium and will get rid of the lanugo from their system.
Around this time in pregnancy many mums-to-be find themselves doing crazy things like organising cupboards and scrubbing their floors (well trying to, depending on your size). That’s the nesting instinct kicking in as your body senses your beautiful baby will be arriving shortly. It can also be your brains way of making sure you’re prepared for just about anything, like you have an extra edge on this whole new parent thing.
