Your growing baby at 0 - 3 months

0 - 3 months: how your baby's growing

Your baby is growing before your very eyes! Learn about the physical changes to expect as they gain weight and grow.

Your baby develops physically from head to toe. First by strengthening their neck muscles to support their head, followed by their shoulders, chest and lower back. Your baby’s legs are the last to develop.

At around 1 month, your baby may begin to lose their very newborn appearance, although their legs might still be slightly bent. At 2 months their body is continuing to straighten out. Soon they’ll be able to lift their head and hold it for a few moments while they’re lying flat on their tummy. At 3 months your baby’s body will have completely uncurled.
