Your baby is the size of a Cucumber
At 30 weeks pregnant your baby is now around 40cm long and weighs around 2lb 8oz. They’re also in the land of nod, spending about 80% of sleeping time in REM (dream) mode. As you might expect, there’s lots of accelerated brain development at this stage. Nerve fibres are developing rapidly, enabling brain impulses to travel faster and increasing your baby's ability to learn when they reach the outside.
You & your body
Your uterus is probably pressing on your bladder now and you might get a touch of cystitis which can give you a burning sensation when you wee. A good way to help flush out toxins naturally is by drinking a glass of cranberry juice a day and plenty of water. It’s a good idea to chat to your healthcare professional too as there are some safe types of antibiotics that they can give you if necessary.
Did you know?
At 30 weeks your baby is still turning regularly and can be in either head down or breech position. By 32 weeks, only three out of four babies have turned into the right position but by full-term, only 3-4% of babies will be breech.
